Position: Fire Apparatus Maintenance Technician
Location: Anderson Fire Protection Commission
Description: Under limited supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor the Maintenance Technician is responsible for general and detailed maintenance of all Commission owned apparatus and equipment per maintenance policies. They will maintain proper documentation of all maintenance and repairs performed through the department’s web based work order system. The Maintenance Technician will assist with annual inspection requirements such as pumper testing and aerial apparatus certifications. Operates and utilizes a variety of machinery and equipment in the performance of duties including mechanical tools, testing equipment, vehicle lifts and metal working equipment. Complete special projects as assign by Maintenance Supervisor or County Fire Chief.
Qualifications: Mechanical training and work experience related to fire apparatus and equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience in similar field. Candidate must be proficient with computers and data entry and have strong organizational skills, Fire service experience and training is preferred but not required. Technician certifications for fire service equipment may be required following employment.
